This Sunday, families and communities from across Glasgow will come together for a city-wide march demanding urgent action on youth knife crime. Organised by the Parents Against Knives campaign, the peaceful demonstration will begin at 1pm at Ibrox Stadium, ending at Celtic Park. The march honours the lives of young people tragically taken too soon—Kory McCrimmon, Amen Teklay, and Kayden Moy—and calls for lasting change.
At The Community Impact Project and East Kilbride Neighbourhood Watch, we’re proud to stand in full support of this vital cause.
We first heard about the march through one of our own: James, an active campaigner, and passionate youth advocate. We’re incredibly proud that James will be among the speakers at Sunday’s event, amplifying the voices of young people and families across East Kilbride and beyond.
This Is Bigger Than Postcodes
Knife crime does not respect boundaries—and our response to it shouldn’t either. Whether you live in the city centre, the suburbs, or in a small town like ours, the impact of youth violence is felt everywhere. That’s why we believe Glasgow must stand together this weekend, united in grief and determination.
“This issue transcends postcode boundaries. It’s vital the whole of Glasgow stands united against the knife crime epidemic. We must offer young people real opportunities, targeted support, and treat this crisis as a public health emergency that demands collective action.” – Chief Executive & Chairman
A Collective Mission
At EK Neighbourhood Watch and The Community Impact Project, we live by the belief that “it takes a village.” That’s why we’ve been actively working with elected officials, youth services, charities, and local businesses to tackle this issue at its root. Many of our local partners have hosted events, supported the campaign, or expressed a desire to collaborate further—and that community spirit gives us genuine hope for change.
In Memory of Kayden Moy
We also pause to remember Kayden Moy, a much-loved young man whose life was tragically cut short. His family remains firmly in our thoughts and prayers, and their loss strengthens our resolve to prevent further tragedies.
Be Part of the Change
We encourage everyone—whether in East Kilbride or elsewhere—to join the march this Sunday or show support in other ways:
- Sign and share the petition (please ensure you verify your signature by email for it to count).
- Talk to young people around you. Listen. Support.
- Help amplify the message: enough is enough.
